2008 Trip

After about a week getting the trailer loaded and ready to go, we got up early to hook up the truck and trailer in preparation for our trip to Death Valley and Las Vegas. We pulled away from the house about 10:30am after Darlene got home from her dentist’s appointment. The weather is cloudy and about 46F and we are off: In search of our share of global warming – We want our share. Our plan is to travel about 250 miles to the RV Park at the Seven Feathers Casino in Canyonville, OR, a little South of Roseburg. We break into the sunshine a little North of Albany, OR and it is very comfortable out when we stop for lunch at one of Darlene’s favorite places. The Pine Cone just South of Albany. We fuel up here before continuing on. We arrive at the Seven Feathers RV Resort around 4:30pm in sunny and mild weather. After setting the trailer up for the night and letting Gracie take care of her business, we head for the casino. Because it is the day after my birthday they shower me with gifts and give me a little extra cash to get me started with my "players card". Darlene gets a little seed money also. Before going to work on the machines we decide to eat and find a great special in the cafe. We both have a very good Rib Eye steak for $7.95. After dinner we spend about 10 minutes on the machines. Darlene gives all her seed money back to them, but I end up + $10 and decide to pocket the winnings and head to the trailer for a good night’s sleep. This is a very nice park with very clean showers and restrooms. It has a very large inside pool that we did not use.
